Akiva Greenfield
CEO
Akiva started Nexus with physicians in mind. From a young age Akiva wanted to be a sports agent; the athlete did the work, got the attention, but the agent was wheeling and dealing to make sure that the money was “shown”. With that approach, Akiva started representing physicians in 2010 with the launch of Nexus. He is always thinking about ways to improve Nexus’ client’s bottom line.
Ori Kanefsky
CHIEF FIREFIGHTER
Ori's main function at Nexus is to not only put out fires (most of them are started by Akiva), but to prevent them from even starting. A phone call, and subsequent pleas from Akiva in his senior year at Yeshiva University led him back to Los Angeles to help take Nexus to the next level. Ori is not a sprinter (although he can beat Erik in a race), he's a marathoner, from client implementation to corporate strategy Ori builds for the long run. Out of the office he plays basketball, lifts weights, and makes a mean omelet; and he's probably thinking about how to make Nexus even stronger.
Julia Li
Director of GSD
Julia founded IBB in 1994 and merged with Nexus in 2017, and now she can sleep (hopefully). An engineer by training (not the Choo-Choo kind), there is no one as detail-oriented in Nexus (or quite possibly the universe) as Julia, which is why she runs the Getting Shit Done department. Ori and Julia continuously debate what the most efficient method for every process is, and that is what makes Nexus great (who else is debating medical billing processes?).
Jerry Einhorn
Yoda
Remember when medical billing was done by hand? Neither do we, but Jerry does, and he will gladly tell you all about those days. He's been doing medical billing forever, and knows everything about everything (just ask him). When those young whipper snappers have an issue that needs resolving they turn to the Yoda for advice. He's the first one in the office, coffee in hand (a drop of milk and one packet sweet and low--thanks for asking), and he's going to make sure that you get paid. If you work at Cedars be on the lookout for him, he's the "Mayor".
Jacob Van Cleve
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Jake is a medical billing junkie, he's been doing it his entire career. He started at Empyrean manually entering data (fun!) and then ventured off to Kareo where he helped run their RCM arm. At Nexus, he overseas the operations: from data entry, to payment posting, to customer service, Jake has his eyes and ears on all the functions. On his hour and a half drive home he listens to podcasts, thinks about the days when Nexus opens up an office in Irvine, and ponders the next part for his computer that he's been building.
Emily Ordal
Director of Client Services
If you are reading this (hopefully) then you'll get to know Emily pretty quickly. She makes sure that our clients (and their offices) are beyond happy with Nexus. Reporting, data analysis, to working with your staff on best practices, Emily will be your go-to to getting things done. When she's not making pie charts (and ordering Birthday pies for office birthdays) she travels with her husband, runs through hoops with her dogs, and is probably on the way to the Hollywood Bowl.
Mikayel Musayelyan
Director of AR
Nexus' job is to get you paid, Mikayel's job is to make sure that it happens fast. His finger is on the pulse of your AR, he not only knows why that annoying insurance company isn't paying you, but knows how to get it fixed (without screaming into the phone). He holds an MBA, and uses data analytics to find the problems, and his experience in RCM to solving them.

Rupa Lalai
Vice President of the Los Angeles AAPC Chapter
ICD-10, CPT codes, Revenue Codes and all the other annoying things that you have to do to get paid, Rupa doesn't find them annoying (your chicken scratch for handwriting on the other hand...). She leads the Charge team, making sure that all the codes are accurate, don't bundle, and are sent to the insurance company quickly and correct to ensure that you get paid. Her love of healthcare and people merge outside of Nexus as well. She serves as a volunteer at Cedars-Sinai and is the Secretary of the Los Angeles Chapter of the AAPC (American Association of Professional Coders).
Charles Williams
Psychologist
Dr. Charles Williams is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Masters in the arts of teaching. He has experience in community mental health working both clinically and as an advocate for reducing stigma and increasing access to behavioral healthcare services. He has supervised interns in a variety of healthcare settings and enjoys interdisciplinary management and clinical trainings. He prides himself on helping behavioral health treatment centers maximize their productivity and efficiency through different modalities and deconstructing the mystifying gaps between revenue cycle management and enhanced clinical care.

Mark De La Fuente
Payment Team QA Lead
A veteran at Nexus, Mark makes sure that all the payments are posted to each patients account accurately. He is one of those those guys who loves numbers and won’t sleep until every penny is reconciled, making him the perfect candidate to lead the Payments team. He'll convince you to start getting ERA payments from insurance companies (if you aren't currently) and will work with you on how to best handle out of network payments. As the resident Nexus photographer, he’s the guy taking the group pictures and is probably eating lunch in the dark room (inside joke, ask him to explain).
Veronica Holland
AR Lead
A hybrid between Rihanna and Rod Tidwell "Show Me the Money", Veronica is focused on getting you your money. She lives Nexus core value, she is always the client, your money is her money, and her tenacity trickles down to the entire AR team. Her focus at Nexus is out of network claims and pre and post payment negotiations.
Maria Lara
AR Lead
IPAs, Medicaid, HMOs, whatever, Maria is going to cut all the red tape and get you paid. She brings years of experience from IBB to Nexus with a focus on dealing with all the insurance plans that are annoying. She's also the only person in America without a cell phone (Akiva thinks she is the luckiest person in America).

Dayana Figueroa
Credentialing Expert
Dayana started her career at Nexus straight out of billing school, and she has taken the lead on all things credentialing. She is constantly making sure that all of Nexus’ clients are up to date with their Medicare enrollments, and all the other red tape that insurance companies throw at us.

Victor Alba
Intake Lead
Stop stapling all those papers! Victor leads the team that gets all that paperwork from your office into the Nexus system (everything is scanned) so it can be worked on by the correct team. Victor joined Nexus in 2014 as an intern, and has been an integral part of Nexus' growth, partly because of work ethic and willingness to jump on any project.
Jasmine Booth
Patient Experience Lead
Although we are always trying to find ways to improve it, we know how confusing the medical billing process can be for a patient. Jasmine leads the team responsible for hand holding your patients through the choppy waters. She's an advocate for your patients, working with them to make sure that they understand the bill that they are holding, and help getting any questions they have resolved.
